Critiques Nurture IndependenceStudents will learn to critique each other's work in academic areas. It fosters a sense of accountability to oneself and each other as we learn to look at our work with a critical eye. Our first draft is never our final draft in our family. Austin's Butterfly is a movie that helps inspire students to become more critical workers. One of the Common Core math practices says "...and critique the reasoning of others." I have found that critiques are not only effective learning tools in math, but also in reading, writing, and collaborative conversations. Click on the button to watch the video.
